In a joint enterprise between the Speedway Sedan Racing Club of WA who represent the elite Sedan Division in Speedway and the sports’ equivalent in position of the V8 Supercars Brand and The Junior Speedway Racing Association of WA who represent the entry level for Juniors in Speedway in Australia and are the club that race exclusively at Perth Motorplex - two Drivers will feature in a live studio interview on the “Not The Footy Show” 990AM Radio Programme next Wednesday night 23rd September – hosted by Sports Commentator Ashley Morrison between 6pm and 8pm. They will talk about their respective careers and prospects for Season 09/10.
Micheal Nash is an exciting young Super Sedan Star that graduated from Juniors Sedans only 4 years ago taking Rookie of the Year in Modified Sedans before stepping up to Supers last year and is making a big impression with his ambitions for the up coming season in the SSRC Super Sedan Summer Series. The Series features 7 Spectacular Saturday Super Speedway appearances at the world renowned Perth Motorplex @ Kwinana Beach and country rounds in Newman; Tom Price; Port Headland; Collie; Kalgoorlie; Albany and Manjimup.
And 14yo Jack Alfirevich who was the Top Stars Runner-Up last season in the Healthway Smarter than Smoking Junior Sedan Championship at Perth Motorplex is hoping to go one better in the new season - Junior Sedans still getting great exposure through Fast Fridays and Super Saturdays at Perth Motorplex. Jack is also looking forward to getting a good result in the inaugural JSRAWA Healthway Smarter than Smoking Country Challenge visiting Northam; Kalgoorlie; Moora; Narrogin; Pithara and Ellenbrook Speedways and aimed at taking the Smarter than Smoking and Healthy Eating message to Regional WA.
Also joining the boys will be Speedways resident expert Mr Des Alfirevich …because what Des doesn’t know about Speedway is not worth knowing. His current positions are President of the Junior Speedway Racing Association of WA; Chairman National Speedway Racing Assoc WA; Chair of the NASR National Safety Regulations Committee; Commissioner in the WA Speedway Commission; National and WA Technical Director of Speedway Sedans Australia; Technical Director of the Perth Motorplex/Speedway and of corse Des was also quite an accomplished driver in his time.
The aim is to bring the profile of Speedway to the fast growing audience of this new popular and exciting alternative to Perth Sports Radio. Tina Lizzi – PR SSRC / JSRAWA
